RolePlay

Role‑Play Guidelines

• When you finish an RP scene and a story is forming, feel free to continue it through IM. Use IMs to plan the next meeting, set a time, or adjust your light settings for night or dark scenes as needed.

• If you’re starting a storyline or want to involve new characters, create a notecard describing your RP concept. Drop it in the mailbox at the dock and a moderator will make sure it gets posted.

• Think of SL role‑play like watching a movie: we can already see the weather, the room, and people walking or sitting. There’s no need to emote actions that are visually obvious.

• Para‑style writing is welcome, but remember to write actions and dialogue that someone else can react to.

• God‑modding—controlling another character’s actions, emotions, or outcomes—is not allowed. RP is turn‑based, so give others space to respond before continuing.

• Thought‑emoting is not allowed. Keep emotes to things others can see, hear, or logically respond to. Compliments are fine, but avoid insults or internal thoughts others can’t interact with.

• Do not take in‑character behavior personally. If you have concerns or feel something crossed a line, speak with a moderator.

• Don’t be afraid to play a unique or unexpected character. RP is most engaging when characters bring their own flavor and personality. If you need help building stories or developing ideas, moderators are always available to brainstorm with you.

• If your character plays a darker or more complex role—such as a thief, she‑urt, or assassin—communicate with a moderator beforehand. This ensures everyone is on the same page and reduces the risk of OOC misunderstandings.

• Please avoid OOC chat in local. This includes simple abbreviations like wb, ty, lol, afk, brb, or numerals not typed out. Use your meter for status updates, and if you need to leave, simply step out of the scene.

• You are welcome to RP in multiple sims. When things are slow, explore—just don’t mix storylines from Isle of Nara with other sims unless both stories are intentionally connected.
